@Dan Webd Air France447 claimed cause is not entirely foolproof .. or established .. and ice on the wings will cause havoc in the cockpit...if the pilots aren't trained for deicing ...the airspeed will drop as if for no reason and will cause even more confusion ...and at the end ..when all has been said and done ..the aircraft will dive into the water horizontally...I'm looking at that case more from this angle than the water having Lost it's density...I don't have maps of that part of the world ... so it's the one or the other ..in the case of Malaysia, I will looking at the record of the airlines and its management and so forth ... which may be kinda contrasted with the record of Air France ... flight path did not look good to me...and weather and climate changes of that part of the world is kinda dangerous for airlines flying that transatlantic route...with a confirmed dead zone ...no chance of survival ... Malaysia appears to have met with the same or similar fate as Air France FL 447 .... just one body floated to the surface after years... and surprisingly it was spared for burial by the sharks... believe me there a shark would drown ...?

There are two kinds of lithium batteries.
Lithium ion batteries (rechargeable)- e.g. battery used on cellphones and electric vehicles.
Lithium metal battery (non-rechargeable, long-life, single use.)-e.g. battery used on fire alarms. Can last as long as 10 years.
Many people can not tell between the two. Even some Google answers incorrectly talk about lithium ion batteries when people ask about lithium metal batteries.
As far as I know, all the fires caused by batteries with lithium are caused by lithium ion batteries only, i.e. the rechargeable ones.
I have used both kinds of lithium batteries. A lithium ion battery exploded into a flame thrower when it was overcharged. But the lithium metal batteries (non-rechargeable, single use, 10 years battery life)in my five smoke detectors in my condo unit as well as the lithium metal batteries in tens of smoke detectors in the public areas of the condo have been in use for about three years with no problem at all.
The current battery that powers the underwater locator beacon is a lithium ion battery that can operate for 30 to 40 days. Even though lithium metal battery may extent the battery life of the underwater locator to years instead of tens of days, I just found out that the Betavoltaic Battery (a kind of nuclear battery) is an even more long lasting and safer battery to be used on underwater locators.

A little while after this happened I was nervous about myself or any family members flying. I know this was a unique circumstance and tragic at that but I couldn’t help wonder getting on a plane not knowing if there was someone in the plane who is going to hijack it whether be a person sitting next to me or a person in the cockpit. Think about it when you step on the airplane you are putting your life in the hands of the pilots and the people on the ground who they were in contact with. I really pray this can somehow be solved or at the very least they find the plane and let those people have a final proper resting place with their families.

I remember the day well. I had just returned the day before from a long haul flight from Australia to the UK. The entire scene flashed through my head. You board your plane, you settle into your seat, you wait nervously and with trepidation to hear that little *ding* saying you can move freely about the plane. You hear the gentle hummmm of the air circulation, the chatter start, the drinks trolley coming. You settle down with a good book or a snooze. You're kinda relaxed and feel at ease knowing you're now at cruising altitude and it's all now just a 'waiting' game and 'time'. THENNNNNNNNNNNN ............................ I imagine the terror, the horror, the panic and then the tears come again. RIP to all those who lost their lives. Wherever you are God bless you all.

These passengers were almost certainly all knocked out at once. Unless their cell phones weren't working on the plane, someone would have tried to place a phone call, many people would. IIRC there were many calls made from the 9/11 planes, I just find it a bit too depressing to look up. Also, I remember an interview with someone who survived a plane crash and he said the most chilling thing was the silence when the engines died. The plane was still in the air, but they were just gliding with no other noise.

I’ve never said this before about the disappearance of MH 370 and the people on board but I would rather find out the cabin was Depressurized then to think they started realizing they were never going to get to their destination after flying for so many hours and knowing something was wrong. There are a few experts who believe whoever was flying the plane and dismantled the tracking systems probably depressurized the plane and the people only had about 15 minutes of air from the masks and then they would’ve passed out. Tragic and heartbreaking but least they wouldn’t have known that something terrible was going to happen by them flying for so long. I mean how sickening..there were even small children on that flight. Whether it was the main pilot or they were hijacked and locked out of the cockpit it was a cowardly thing to do. I would never want to fly again if authorities don’t know where the plane is that I am in. In this day and age with all the technology we have it was just wrong that the two major switches were shut off and for the most part the plane could not be tracked. I wonder if the murderer on the plane forgot about the satellite pings. I don’t think that person could do anything about that. If not for that they wouldn’t know approximately where the plane went down.

@Mikoto An example of why you would definitely want to turn off the bleed air is a fire in the pressurisation system.
Nearly all aircraft systems that are needed all the time have manual overrides for dealing with various faults.
What you would really need is pilots that are truly interested in their aircraft and that the pilots have so much engineering thinking ability that they can figure out possible failure cases during the flight. That's a hard task and officially no pilot is expected to be able to do this.

    • Mikoto
      Mikoto 16 दिन पहले

@Mikko Rantalainen So I guess that begs the question. Why would the pilots even be given the ability to depressurise the passenger cabin? Especially if the aircraft is above ten thousand feet? I mean okay I get that the system has to be turned on and off for above and below 10k but why cut the passenger cabin and flight deck into separately pressurised zones? Surely they should share the same pressurised area.
I mean, call me old fashioned but if I’m to put my life entirely in the hands of two people that I don’t know operating a very complicated machine in an environment that I can’t survive in, then I would expect to have their lives tied to mine given the strong survival instincts most humans have.

@random ASMR The chances of you surviving exiting the plane are slim to none, and even IF, and that’s a HUGE IF!!!!, you happen to survive the exit, you still need to survive the dip in the ocean, and even IF, you survive that landing, you’re still in the middle of the ocean, without a raft, without water, without anything that you can use as a way to stay away from the salt water that will dehydrate you in a less than 24 hours. That part of the ocean isn’t as transited by vessels so I think that it’s safe to say your odds of survival are probably comparable to winning the lottery back to back to back…

Yeah, believed by who? Certainly nobody watching this, and nobody with any knowledge of the investigation and the obvious politics involved. If the information presented in this documentary is credible and is not being used to divert attention away from something else, then it is pretty obvious that both the Malaysian and Australian governments do not want the truth to be known, and will eliminate anyone who makes too much noise.

    • hknokke
      hknokke 4 दिन पहले

All of that is bullshit. Either there is explosive decompression and you don't "loose consciousness", you simply die in the explosion or are sucked out of the plane with other loose debris, or the decompression is progressive, in which case oxygen masks pops out and you don't loose consciousness and you can breathe until the plane reach a lower altitude where the air is denser and you can breath without oxygen mask. And even if there was no oxygen mask available, you don't die immediately from oxygen starvation, there is still time elapsing until you loose consciousness (airplanes don't fly in the void, they fly at an altitude where there is less oxygen)

This was one of the best documentaries I’ve seen about MH370. I don’t remember hearing that the plane was circling for 22 minutes and possibly negotiations being done with whoever was flying the plane. So it’s not a mystery. It didn’t completely vanish. The plane was pinging up to that seventh arc and probably went into the ocean around there. If they hit the water with a lot of force the plane would’ve been smashed to bits and 1 million pieces probably would’ve been found and it hasn’t. So maybe the other gentleman was right that whoever was flying the plane and responsible ditched the aircraft on top of the water. I still think it would’ve broken in two. I pray the Australian government or the Malaysian government will go back to that specific area and look. I also hope they have made changes on every single airplane in the last eight years that they cannot just turn off the tracking systems. God bless those people!

First able, there is no whole plane to be found. It is disintegrated then shattered by huge explosion and by very strong flames. I have all those pictures. Only I have them.
I also have passenger pictures how they were burning by flames and by strong heavy fire smokes. Whole plane was burning very furiously. Too many passengers were in the air while burning and smoking, to hit Ocean. I have all those pictures.

Wait… most airlines have a guard of sorts. A failsafe against pilot murder suicide, against one pilot locking another out then crashing it. Because this has happened before, a Germanwings flight although I haven’t managed to watch those details because maybe I don’t want to know exactly how that non-suicidal pilot, the flight attendants and passengers suffered before the end. I know that they did, but the details… I don’t think I want to know.
But basically the safeguard is that that neither pilot is allowed to be in the flight deck/cockpit alone at any time during flight. If one pilot must leave to use the lavatory then one of the flight attendants has to sit in the flight deck with the other pilot until other one returns. Now because it’s possible that one flight attendant could be attacked and incapacitated by the murder suicidal pilot so I personally think it should be two flight attendants instead of one.
But I suppose it’s just another question. Did Malaysian Airlines have that flight attendant safeguard policy at the time? If it did, I wonder if she fought to save her flight? Awful. Hence why I haven’t looked closely at the Germanwings crash.
As a last note, I can’t blame that retired pilot for closing his eyes and covering his face during the death spiral simulation. It must go against every instinct he had not to engage his recovery training and try to save it.

Aside Amelia Earhardt's case the most intriguing case of a plane vanishing-without-a-trace is the cargo flight 967 of former Brazilian company VARIG. The Boeing 707 disappeared shortly after the take-off at Narita airport, Tokyo in the night of the 30th January, 1979. Not a single piece of the wrackage was ever recovered, and there were no reports of lights indicating any explosion in the route (immediate destiny was Los Angeles). The plane made just a first radio contact about 20 minutes after taking off and no problem was reported. Six crew members were aboard, including Captain Gilberto Araújo da Silva, 55. Coincidentally he had previously survived the crash of another Boeing 707 from the same company, the flight 820, which crashed a few minutes away from landing at the Orly airport, Paris, due to huge fire and smoke. This flight had 123 fatalities and 11 survivors. This previous accident happened on the 11th July, 1973. To this date the flight 967 is probably the biggest airplane to disappear leaving no clues, no traces at all.

Even though I have no family who was on that airliner, my heart goes out to the families of those lost. Not knowing what happened, and the lady whose husband was on that plane was right. You are stuck on that date when the plane went missing. I hope for the sake of the families that they will be able to finally find the area where this plane is. Danika is one very strong woman, and I applaud her courage in being able to share her story with us. This air disaster has haunted me for years. I would want closure and or peace. I want that for the families of those lost also.

One thing that hasnt been mentioned, is that if the plane hit the water and went under it's very possible it could of glided in a way for miles before hitting the bottom depending on how it hit and if a majority of the wings remain, also if one wing was more damaged than the other then its gonna glide more in one direction

Going back 8 years with this story.... It's amazing how the pilot or anyone in the cockpit of a commercial airplane, has easy access to disable the plane's tracking device is absolutely unbelievable. No one! on board should be able to turn off something so vitality important like a "light switch", then simply disappear with 239 human lives. In 2022, if this "flaw" is still included in new airplane designs, we as a "people" have learned nothing from this immense tragedy.

Zachari disabled the copilot (fire ax behind the captains seat) and the climb to FL340 and opening the outflow valves, hypoxia and 7-15 seconds of useful consciousness, disabling and killing all passengers and cabin crew, then the descent and southwestward flight over Penang (Georgetown was Zachari's home town-F-18 are located in nearby military base), then the very careful navigation between Indonesian Islands and then the clear heading straight toward the S., Pole and then fuel starvation. Many more details regarding the "pinging" of the RR engines by the Inmarsat satellite. etc.

If the pilot had not intentionally landed the plane on the water, probably far more than 27 pieces of debris would have been recovered. Seems, the aircraft was apparently still relatively intact when it hit the water and during the process of sinking. The condition of the recovered flaperon looked quite similar compared with those of the famous "Sully" Hudson River landing.

Hard to believe that a pilot with so many years of experience could just decide to do that. Though people change, but in this situation, question motives and evidence of motives. The truth, is only a matter of time to come out. It seems that some people will do anything and everything to keep the truth from the rightful owners, and the public. Just to add: Higgins was perhaps on to something. For him to mysteriously disappeared or kidnapped is interesting. Perhaps all this is linked to the main source. "Some reports have claimed, erroneously and likely deliberately so, that disabling a plane’s transponder will cause it to disappear from radar. That is a patently absurd claim. Shutting off the transponder will certainly make positive identification more difficult, but it hardly renders an aircraft invisible to radar. If that were the case, foreign bombers could slip past U.S. radar at any time merely by switching off their transponders."

I've been intrigued with this since it happened. One theory was that the pilot had depression and was suicidal. I can't get my head around killing hundreds of people just because I feel like crap. That's selfish. The evidence found on the pilot's home flight simulator pretty much showed he had researched and planned course of action. The twenty minutes in a holding pattern was new information to me, long with him gliding into the sea, rather than a spiral straight down. I hope these people find some peice.

Someone should tell the military that, according to Angus Houston, by turning off your communication equipment you become invisible to radar. They wouldn't have wasted all those billions of dollars on stealth technology. On a serious note, what they would have done is turned off the transponder on the airplane which lets air traffic controllers know what that radar blip is.

    • Daniel C
      Daniel C 2 महीने पहले

@Phil Failla ... such a well thought out and reasoned response.... Just to point out, "transponder" aka IFF is a passive system. It only returns ID when interrogated. Go read up on it. And to your post relying to Bored, transponders are not radar. And turning that off won't matter shit if the ground radar is painting you with emitted energy, it already knows you're there.

    • Warren Burgess
      Warren Burgess 2 महीने पहले +1

@Daniel C This is quite true, just has nothing to do with being military or civilian. I've worked on both.

    • Warren Burgess
      Warren Burgess 2 महीने पहले +1

@SoDamnBoredV3 Had a feeling someone would think the military's radar was somehow different. Radar, military or civilian, is an electromagnetic pulse sent out from a transceiver which bounces off an object and returns and shows up as a blip on the screen. Why the military spends billions on stealth technology is it is so hard to keep that signal from bouncing back to the radar transceiver. The communication systems on a plane has nothing to do with that bouncing signal. There is a lot of videos on how radar works, so you don’t have to take my word for it.

    • Daniel C
      Daniel C 2 महीने पहले +2

@SoDamnBoredV3 Technically it does not. All that does is change their ID from identified to unidentified but that is useless since the ATC can simply know who you are since he has your ID even before the transponder was turned off. Only way it can even affect is if it entered another region's ADIZ. They will still know you are there, just have no idea who you are, which is a sign that an air force plane is going to visit you soon. For more developed regions that is. Asia? It's a mess. Chances are high you can fly pass a country without even triggering a radar. Malaysia only has 3 radars on that side of their country, which is 300-450 nm of coverage on about 1k km of coastline. Way too insufficient. Rough estimate, 60% of their airspace is totally uncovered.

Had the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder not been found on the Air France flight that went missing @ night from Rio De Janiero, they would not be certain about the faulty pitot heaters. Wonderful thing technology, as long as one still has control of the a/c, which the pilots did not. They are repeatedly told the auto pilot is so smart, that it can fly better than any pilot. Thus, the co-pilot in command did not understand how to fix the major problem which crashed and killed all aboard. It is miraculous that the boxes were located, but here, they don’t even know where to start looking. Reliance on technology will be its own reward.

So the pilot precisely planned this out on his home simulator. The circling time must have been his takeover of the plane, since new heading after. Also might have intentionally used up precise amount of fuel so there be no fuel left to float and give away planned crash point location which was in the deepest area. The aged experienced pilot in this video seemed to have good insight about the location.

I do dousing with a pendulum, and I did several dousings with it right after MH370 disappeared. It pointed to a location much further south and west in the Indian Ocean, west of Australia. It said had some sort of catastrophic failure and crashed, it also said the fuselage is pretty much intact, and that it is several miles below the ocean, on top of an underwater mountaintop. It said it would not be found for several years due to the conditions.

@Laskow 64 Hell with todays technology the options are pretty limitless. But certainly plane being hijacked and crashing is going to have the media and public going through all the possibilities even more so than almost any thing else, simply because of hte number of people involved. I think I saw a doc where they can of know where it was hijacked, it was early on that the flight path was changed and they turned right around.

    • Laskow 64
      Laskow 64 2 महीने पहले

@Mike Archibald True, but it is not as noticeable as e.g. a "car accident". Well, maybe a "robbery" would come into question.

    • Mike Archibald
      Mike Archibald 2 महीने पहले +2

Possible, but there are a hell of a lot easier ways to get rid of somebody without taking down an entire flight they were on. From the hindsight perspective, given todays technology what has actually occurred was kind of an off chance.

I’m skeptical that it was the pilot murder/suicide. My reasoning falls on the fact that they refuse to search the site the professor and WSPR found. It is an international effort to figure this out. The black box is either found or they refuse to bring it out that ocean. This is definitely murder, but why would the pilot go on a murder/suicide mission based on a family member being jailed for sodomy. It just seems awfully far fetched. They do in fact have machines that can be lowered for search purposes. And at 3am, it’s an awkward time and the public may never know the truth because we can’t handle the truth.

RIP to everyone involved: Pilots, FA's, passengers, as well as to Ean Higgins whom did his research on what happened to the flight and how he knew what happened and how he lost his life at the hands of the gov(most likely) trying to figure out what happened to the flight. I have to applaud to the two pilots who are working tirelessly and relentlessly in trying to locate the flight and bring the passengers back home. To all the family members who know their loved ones are still out there and just want them back home (spiritually or physically) just to lay them to rest for all eternity and to get closure.

My heart goes out to the familys! Our family lost 2 members on Pan AM flight 217 Clipper Malay December 12th 1968.. Our family was never the same. We also never received a satisfactory answer as to what really happened. It was not a long flight, and it was serviced by a very experienced crew. One theory was that the captain lost track of the horizon, that the gyroscope wasn't working. They went down 10 minutes from the airport in shark infested waters near Caracas, Venezuela. We later heard rumors Of an argument between someone in the cabin and the purser Minutes before landing. We will never know.

I like how, at 47:55 the narrator just casually mentions the author being interviewed has up and vanished from the face of the earth, and then bizarrely says "it is believed there are no suspicious circumstances." Who writes this stuff?! "Believed" by whom? Isn't going missing itself a "suspicious circumstance"? Hire an editor, Sky News Australia.

This is reminding me of a Days of Our Lives episode when they thought they were dead they moved on with their life and then their loved one came back but everything was all different because they ended up moving on getting married to someone else so that loved one felt abandoned and alone how crazy prayers are going out to the victims lost in the flight
Nawww I disagree with what the guy is saying the new husband I believe that if you are a father figure to those boys now that they are so young and you keep by them you keep the relationship strong with their mother and your father the boys as if they were your own I think eventually they will look to you as their own father and they will love you as if you was their father and I don't believe they will treat you any differently just as long as you love the boys and you show them how to live life show them how to get through school and the hard times of life and you show them discipline just be a father to them that's all they need I don't think they will abandon you I was married once before with a ready-made family and the children took to me very easily it's because I showed them love and I paid attention to them I help them with their school work and I just paid attention to them just as long as you're not abusive to them you will be all that they know

I lost my dad when I was 4. His family took me to his grave when I was 12. It took a few minutes to process but it was like it just happened. Those two boys are in for some pain. I can tell you unequivocally that as a father myself now if something should happen to me I *pray* that my wife finds a man like John to help raise my son. I have a respect for that man that surpasses any other person on earth.

@Abby Estrada I used to feel that way but then I had a son. It's selfish to hope a person you love would be alone forever when you die....but, more importantly, kids *need* both parents. My only request to my wife if I pass would be to find a good man who would love my son as his own and love her as I do. A boy will have a hard time being a man without a dad and nobody should be doomed to a life of loneliness.

Not THAT many miles off course! Once that aircraft made a 180 and turned south of its intended destination, yet no sign of a problem, can only mean that the transponder was probably toggled off, the control of the plane set on a course, and who knows what happened before it went down. All the speculation in the world is NOT going to change what happened and that those who were alive the aircraft, sadly, are alive no more.

@Mark Stewarts breaking the chains... tbh, no. Sky News Australia has a very strong bias, I've seen many flight channels have their take with the info they have from the actual transmissions and the debris found. Similar accidents have happened in the past, such as an airplane that crashed in the Russian mountain range and hasn't been found; however, the case of mh370 is so fascinating because there were no distress calls or anything that could indicate something wrong with the pilots or the airplane.

    • Mark Stewarts breaking the chains...

@Zero-Pantsu-Samus The cover-up was what happened to the plane. Yes, they searched but three governments tried their best to not tell the world what had happened. Did you watch the video?
